Tree Encounters of the Full Moon 2013 - 2014
Our 2013-2014 Gestare collaborative practice takes us into direct relationship with tree beings, those that we encounter in our neighbourhoods, those we find in the wild, trees of the Shawnee forest in Illinois and the rain forests of the West Coast of British Columbia.
Following the cycles of the seasons through the full moons at each solstice and equinox, our intention is to engage with our trees in a rhythm that allows for us to wit(h)ness, listen to, receive from, respond with our chosen tree beings, learning from/with them as we/they move through the cycles of our lives.
Our lunar cycle of practice falls on the three days around the full moons. Traditional names for these moons reflect the seasonal cycles as the year turns.
